CCS Lego Education Robotics Program

November 29, 2011

CCS is excited to announce that we recently received an Ebay Foundation Grant! A big thank you to Tony Schwartz (CCS parent) for nominating us and to Technology Teacher, Mrs. Gallagher for writing the Lego Education WeDO Grant! Mr. Schwartz works for PayPal, which is owned by Ebay. PayPal employees had the opportunity to nominate an agency to apply for the Ebay Foundation Grant. We were selected to receive $2,000 to implement  a creative and innovative program: The CCS Lego Education Robotics Sets!

Second through sixth grade students will work in small groups to build interactive robotic models! Themes are focused on science, technology, math and language. The themes require students to program and create a working model, interpret 2D and 3D illustrations, understand that animals use parts of their bodies as tools, compare natural systems with mechanical systems, use software to acquire information and demonstrate knowledge and operation of digital and technological systems. Wow! Talk about having fun while learning a lot! Thank you PayPal & Ebay Foundation for providing such great opportunities for kids!
