School Management

CCS's foundersThere has been little change in the management of Challenge Charter School since Mr. & Mrs. Miller founded the school in 1996.  Since inception,  Mrs. Miller has held several important administrative positions including: Administrative Manager/Vice Principal, the Ex. Director of the non-profit company, and a Vice President of the corporate board. Mr. Miller has been its Principal, the CEO of the non-profit company, President of its Corporate Board, and now has turned over the Principalship to Ms. Wendy Miller.  Ms. Miller joined the Administrative staff as Executive Administrative manager upon graduation from college in 1999, in 2002 was made a member of the Corporate Board, in 2004 she became the school’s Vice Principal, and has been the Principal since July 2008.  The Corporate Board of Challenge School, Inc. is currently made up of the three Millers, and one community member.

Although we have not had much turnover, we do have a succession plan, both internally and externally.  As the management team we have identified three master teachers. They are responsible for their respective grade level teachers, policy implementation, evaluation, hire & fire input etc. much like a project manager system in the private sector. These three teachers join the three senior administrative employees to form the management team of CCS to deal with the daily operational issues.
