Staffing
In the fall of 1996 we started with just eight employees, Today we have the equivalent of over 52 full-time positions: 24 classroom teachers; 4 special areas teachers (Technology, Music, P.E., and Art), 3 teaching assistants; 4 Administrators; a Special Education Director, a Special Education Teacher, and a reading specialist; 4 Admin support; 3 food service; 1 health tech; 1 facilities & transportation manager, 2 maintenance workers and a bus driver.
Staffing turnover: Teachers are evaluated on
performance each year. That is defined into two areas;
1) Class-wide student academic performance, & 2)
participation as a positive team member and school support.
In the last 10 years, we have
had about a 25% turn over in teachers due to: 1) poor
performance (10%); and 2.) normal movement of employees:
Motherhood, left state, went back to school, or took another
job (15%)
